She pointed out that the Sports and Youth Fair is one of the most massive sports events held in Novi Sad, bringing together all those who believe in the power of togetherness, a healthy lifestyle and youthful energy.
"This event is much more than a sports and youth event - it is a meeting place between sport and youth, promotion of healthy lifestyles, inclusion and cooperation. This year, it is held under the slogan 'Novi Sad is playing for the future', which is our city's candidacy for the title of European City of Sport. A special significance of this year's Fair is given by the fact that Novi Sad officially holds as many as three European titles - European Capital of Culture, European Youth Capital and European City of Sport. This is a confirmation that our city is recognized in Europe as a community that inspires and leads the development of all areas of social life by its example. The title of European City of Sport is the result of many years of work, enthusiasm and joint commitment of all of us who believe in the importance of sport and sports activism. In one place, we will bring together sports clubs, organisations, sports and youth federations and associations, with the aim of enabling everyone to get acquainted with various sports disciplines and youth programmes, discover new interests and develop volunteer and sports spirit through a diverse programme of youth organisations and rich sports content that will present everything Novi Sad has to offer in the field of sports and youth. Visitors can expect dynamic sports competitions, interesting presentations of youth organizations, as well as a rich accompanying program filled with quizzes, prizes and numerous surprises. It will be a day full of socializing, positive energy and new experiences – said Tatjana Medved.

Tatjana Medved, a member of the City Council for Sports and Youth, opened the "Kickboxing Show Novi Sad 2025" - a match for the title of world champion in which our fellow citizen Aleksandra Krstić competes. The show was held in the small hall of the Serbian Orthodox Church "Vojvodina", organized by the Kickboxing Association of Novi Sad.
"The title of the "European City of Sport 2026" is a recognition that Novi Sad received for the exceptional sports policy it conducts, numerous sports infrastructure, promotion and availability of sports for all, as well as for the top sports results achieved. Today, under the spotlight, we celebrate not only the victory – but the will, passion, sacrifice and identity that Novi Sad builds through sport and synergy of work with sports organisations with which it implements numerous sports programmes, manifestations, events and activities throughout the year. Novi Sad has champions in many sports, as well as exceptional fighters in its rich kickboxing tradition. At the show today, we are watching fighters who represent the future of our martial arts scene and we strongly support our fellow citizen Aleksandra Krstić. The City is proud of all athletes and sports workers, because their efforts are becoming visible in the results and in the quality of the organization of sports events, so I thank them all for the commitment and energy they invest in sports – said Tatjana Medved and added that 7,250,000 dinars were allocated from the City budget this year for financing the programs of sports organizations in the field of kickboxing.
Seven matches were played at the show with 14 participants coming from Italy, Montenegro, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and all the money raised from the sale of tickets will be intended for the treatment of Eva Bajic, a former Serbian national team player in kickboxing.
