FINALS OF THE SERBIAN CUP FOR WATER POLO PLAYERS IN THE SPORTS CENTER "FUTOG"
Member of the City Council for Sports and Youth, Tatjana Medved, attended the final tournament of the Serbian Cup for water polo players held at the Sports Center "Futog", after which she handed over the cup to the winner in the women's competition, VK "Vojvodina".
– It is a great honor for us that the Futog Sports Center hosted one of the most important water polo events in Serbia. This newly opened sports center, with its capacities and modern infrastructure, allows the competition to be held at the highest level, as the complex itself has an Olympic and children's swimming pool, changing rooms, rooms for teams and parking for visitors. The final tournament of the Serbian Cup in Futog confirms our commitment to the development of water sports and the promotion of sportsmanship in the community. Novi Sad lives with the spirit of sport every day and, thanks to the sports policy implemented in the city, continuously invests in sports infrastructure, provides accessible sports for all ages, inclusion and sports for people with disabilities, as well as the development of recreational and professional sports programs. Since 2012, more than 35 million euros have been invested in the construction of sports fields and facilities. This has certainly contributed to our city taking the prestigious title of European City of Sport 2026 – said Tatjana Medved and once again congratulated the winning team.
In the semi-finals of the cup competed water polo clubs "Palilula", "Partizan", "Vojvodina" and "Red Star" in the women's competition and "Šabac", "Sava", "Radnički" and "Novi Beograd" in the men's competition.

TATJANA MEDVED AT THE CONFERENCE "HOW TO MAKE YOUNG PEOPLE MORE EMPLOYABLE – CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES 2025"
Member of the City Council for Sports and Youth, Tatjana Medved, attended the Conference "How to Achieve Greater Employability of Young People – Challenges and Opportunities in 2025", held in the premises of the Science Technology Park Novi Sad.
The conference was implemented within the project 'Towards greater employability of young people in Novi Sad 2025', implemented by the City of Novi Sad – City Administration for Sports and Youth, Youth Office, with the financial support of the Ministry of Tourism and Youth of the Republic of Serbia. The aim of the project is to develop services and mechanisms that encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of young people, their employability and accelerated inclusion in the labor market.
Member of the City Council for Sports and Youth, Tatjana Medved, emphasized the importance of such initiatives for the local community and the future of young people.
"The city of Novi Sad is a city of youth and a city of sports, as evidenced by the titles it has won in these areas. Young people are a huge potential of our city and it is our obligation to provide them with as many opportunities as possible for learning, professional guidance and development. This conference shows that through the joint action of institutions, the economy and educational institutions, we can create an environment in which young people are supported to develop their talents and successfully prepare for the labor market. The City of Novi Sad will continue to invest in programs that strengthen the employability of young people and encourage their entrepreneurial spirit," said Tatjana Medved.
So far, the project has successfully implemented a program of free trainings aimed at the development of students' soft skills, as well as a career guidance program intended for high school students. These contents aim to empower unemployed young people, get acquainted with different professions and acquire key competencies for an adequate choice of career path. Students of the University of Novi Sad and high school students from Novi Sad participated in the trainings. A panel was also held at the conference, which was attended by representatives of relevant institutions and prominent entrepreneurs, who spoke about the challenges of the modern labor market, the necessary competencies of young people and new employment opportunities.

TATJANA MEDVED OPENED THE "IV OPEN TAEKWONDO BALKAN CUP"
Member of the City Council for Sports and Youth, Tatjana Medved, attended the opening ceremony of the "IV Open Taekwondo Balkan Cup" in the Sports Hall "Futog," which is one of the most important and largest martial arts competitions in the region. The Sports Association of Real Aikido 'Futog' and the Taekwondo Club 'Soko' with the support of the City of Novi Sad are the organisers of the competition.
"I am honored to open the largest taekwondo event in the region, with 689 competitors from 20 countries, in which, in addition to taekwondo, other combat sports will be promoted. This is a competition that celebrates accessibility, discipline, fair play and the values that sport carries in its purest form. In addition, this tournament has a strong humanitarian character, through cooperation with the NURDOR Foundation and support for children who are being treated for cancer. It is this bond, athletes, fighters, humanity and humanity, that elevates this event to a level that transcends sport. Because in sports, as in life, you win with your heart, not just with technique. And taekwondo is much more than a technique. It is discipline, self-control, courage and respect, exactly the values that Novi Sad carries as the European City of Sport 2026. We are especially proud that this event is being held right here, within the Futog sports complex, which symbolizes the strength of our sports community and the standards that Novi Sad sets as the European City of Sport 2026. The City of Novi Sad continuously supports the development of sports, equal access to sports for all and the organisation of sports events that raise the quality of our sport and contribute to the reputation of our city at the international level. It is our system, our policy and our commitment to make sport a pillar of the community, the identity of the city and a space in which everyone can grow," said Tatjana Medved.
This year's tournament is officially classified as the first AETF ranking tournament that aims to support excellence and provide greater visibility for athletes and referees and raise standards through international competitions. Over the course of three days, participants will compete in form disciplines, sparring fights, special techniques and strength tests, demonstrating skill, focus, discipline and supreme competitive spirit.

TATJANA MEDVED AT THE PANEL "SPORT AND YOUTH" WITHIN THE FIFTH FUTOG YOUTH FORUM
Member of the City Council for Sports and Youth of the City of Novi Sad, Tatjana Medved, participated in the panel discussion 'Sport and Youth' within the fifth Futog Youth Forum, organised by the citizens' association 'Support the Youth', the largest youth organisation in this suburban area.
They discussed the needs of young people, access to sports programs and work engagements in the field of sports, volunteering in sports, challenges related to access to physical activities and health care, as well as the creation of sustainable support models that integrate sport, health, education and active participation of young people in the community.
Tatjana Medved pointed out that the City of Novi Sad is systematically and continuously strengthening youth support mechanisms, developing partnerships with local organisations and building a connected, sustainable, functional and strong system in which institutions, organisations, sports, youth and youth policies work together, in order to enable young people to develop, be visible and fully participate in social processes.
For the past five years, the Futoga Youth Forum has been a recognizable platform for dialogue between institutions, organizations and young people, with a clear mission to strengthen local capacities and encourage youth activism. This year's emphasis is placed on the possibility of doubling and integrating activities in the field of sports and youth in the coming year in the light of the prestigious European titles that Novi Sad has won - European Youth Capital and European City of Sport 2026.
OUR PARA TABLE TENNIS PLAYERS - THE PRIDE OF NOVI SAD AND SERBIA
Tatjana Medved, a member of the City Council for Sports and Youth, visited today the Serbian national team in table tennis for people with disabilities, who are finalizing their preparations at SPENS before leaving for the European Table Tennis Championship, which will be held from November 17 to 23, 2025 in the Swedish city of Helsinkiborg.
On that occasion, she pointed out that para table tennis players are the pride of Novi Sad, Serbia and the world thanks to our table tennis player Borislava Perić Rankovic, who has been crowned with numerous Olympic medals, and was also awarded the Order of Sretenje for the best Serbian athlete with disabilities.
"Our paratable tennis players are the pride of Novi Sad and Serbia. With their work, dedication and fighting spirit, they show that sport has no boundaries. They are a true example that with perseverance, effort and love for sports, all obstacles can be overcome. Their results prove that sport is not only a competition, but also a way of life that inspires. It is a special honor for us that the national team is going to Sweden from Novi Sad. We say goodbye to you as true ambassadors of sport, courage and will with full pride, faith in your strength and a great desire to come back with medals. The City of Novi Sad, led by Mayor Žarko Mićin, continuously invests in the development of inclusive sports, in sports infrastructure and in all organizations working with people with disabilities, because this is one of the strategic priorities of the city's policy in the field of sports. The title of European City of Sport 2026 is a great recognition that Novi Sad has a strong and responsible sports policy, based on equal opportunities and inclusion. Parasport is our pride, and these athletes are the best ambassadors of the values that the city cherishes," said Tatjana Medved.
The upcoming European Championships will feature para-table tennis players in several competitive categories, and the national team consists of the most successful athletes who have won medals at the European and World Championships in previous years.

INTERNATIONAL PARA SWIMMING COMPETITION "SERBIA OPEN 2025" HAS BEGUN AT THE SWIMMING POOLS IN FUTOG
Member of the City Council for Sports Tatjana Medved opened the International Para Swimming Competition "Serbia Open 2025", which was held at the swimming pools of the Sports Center "Futog". The competition is organized under the auspices of the Paralympic Committee of Serbia, and is implemented by the Sports Swimming Association of Persons with Disabilities "Winner 021".
"The City of Novi Sad proudly supports the development of inclusive sport and especially appreciates the efforts of all those who work to make sport accessible to all. I would like to thank the Paralympic Committee of Serbia and the Sports Swimming Association of Persons with Disabilities "Pobednik 021" for the exceptional organization and enthusiasm they have been investing in the promotion of parasport for years. The City supports all sports and sports disciplines in all ages, categories, and especially work with children and people with disabilities, providing maximum support at all levels, regardless of whether it is a professional or recreational sport. This has certainly contributed to the prestigious title of European City of Sport 2026. This competition is not just a sporting event - it is a symbol of strength, perseverance and togetherness. With your effort and dedication, you show that boundaries exist only when we accept them ourselves. You are a true example that with courage and will everything can be achieved - said Tatjana Medved.
The competition was attended by 70 competitors from 15 clubs from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Montenegro and Serbia. They competed in all age categories and swimming styles in the 50 and 100 meters.
