Member of the City Council for Sports and Youth, Tatjana Medved, attended the closing of the 8th International Bowling Tournament of Novi Sad ‘BACKA OPEN 2025’, which was held in the bowling alley of the Serbian Orthodox Church ‘Vojvodina’. The Cup was organized by the Bowling Club “Bačka” with the support of the City of Novi Sad and the Serbian Orthodox Church “Vojvodina”.
“This international sports competition is another in a series, which confirms the fact that the City of Novi Sad is an excellent host that uses every opportunity to confirm that it is a successful organizer of many sports events. This has greatly contributed to the City of Novi Sad becoming an official candidate for the title of ‘European City of Sport 2026’ this year. I believe that we will win it, which would make our city proudly carry three European titles, youth, culture and sports from next year,” said Tatjana Medved and greeted all participants and finalists of this year’s competition, wishing them many more sporting successes in the future, adding that this year’s tournament “Bačka Open 2025” was a true pleasure for all active bowlers. as well as for recreationists in this sport – said Tatjana Medved.
This year’s bowling competition took place in two phases, qualifications and the final part, in which over 180 competitors from eight countries participated, namely Macedonia, Hungary, Republika Srpska, Croatia, Italy and Germany, and the twenty-four best competitors were awarded prizes.
