Tatjana Medved, a member of the City Council for Sports and Youth, opened the traditional kickboxing show “Nations Cup,” which was held at the Sports Center “Slana Bara,” organized by the “Warrior Gym” club from Veternik.
“We are proud that our city, as the European City of Sport 2026, continues to host top sporting events and support the development of all sports, from basic school disciplines to the most attractive and demanding, such as kickboxing.
Combat sports in Novi Sad have deep roots, a strong system, institutional support and, most importantly, a bright future. I would like to commend the organizers, “Warrior Gym” from Veternik, who, with their vision, work and perseverance, contributed to making this show a tradition that brings together athletes, coaches, fans and all those who believe that sport builds character, self-confidence and togetherness. The City of Novi Sad, led by Mayor Žarko Mićin, will continue to continuously invest in the availability of sports for all, in infrastructure, clubs and programmes, because sport contributes to the entire community and shapes our values – said Tatjana Medved.
The “Nations Cup” has been held for the seventh year in a row. The audience can expect an exciting evening of martial arts, and local fighters participate, as well as fighters from Montenegro, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovakia. There will be eight fights, featuring 16 top competitors.
