Member of the City Council for Sports and Youth, Tatjana Medved, attended the Conference “How to Achieve Greater Employability of Young People – Challenges and Opportunities in 2025”, held in the premises of the Science Technology Park Novi Sad.
The conference was implemented within the project ‘Towards greater employability of young people in Novi Sad 2025′, implemented by the City of Novi Sad – City Administration for Sports and Youth, Youth Office, with the financial support of the Ministry of Tourism and Youth of the Republic of Serbia. The aim of the project is to develop services and mechanisms that encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of young people, their employability and accelerated inclusion in the labor market.
Member of the City Council for Sports and Youth, Tatjana Medved, emphasized the importance of such initiatives for the local community and the future of young people.
“The city of Novi Sad is a city of youth and a city of sports, as evidenced by the titles it has won in these areas. Young people are a huge potential of our city and it is our obligation to provide them with as many opportunities as possible for learning, professional guidance and development. This conference shows that through the joint action of institutions, the economy and educational institutions, we can create an environment in which young people are supported to develop their talents and successfully prepare for the labor market. The City of Novi Sad will continue to invest in programs that strengthen the employability of young people and encourage their entrepreneurial spirit,” said Tatjana Medved.
So far, the project has successfully implemented a program of free trainings aimed at the development of students’ soft skills, as well as a career guidance program intended for high school students. These contents aim to empower unemployed young people, get acquainted with different professions and acquire key competencies for an adequate choice of career path. Students of the University of Novi Sad and high school students from Novi Sad participated in the trainings. A panel was also held at the conference, which was attended by representatives of relevant institutions and prominent entrepreneurs, who spoke about the challenges of the modern labor market, the necessary competencies of young people and new employment opportunities.
