Member of the City Council for Sports and Youth, Tatjana Medved, attended the final tournament of the Serbian Cup for water polo players held at the Sports Center “Futog”, after which she handed over the cup to the winner in the women’s competition, VK “Vojvodina”.

– It is a great honor for us that the Futog Sports Center hosted one of the most important water polo events in Serbia. This newly opened sports center, with its capacities and modern infrastructure, allows the competition to be held at the highest level, as the complex itself has an Olympic and children’s swimming pool, changing rooms, rooms for teams and parking for visitors. The final tournament of the Serbian Cup in Futog confirms our commitment to the development of water sports and the promotion of sportsmanship in the community. Novi Sad lives with the spirit of sport every day and, thanks to the sports policy implemented in the city, continuously invests in sports infrastructure, provides accessible sports for all ages, inclusion and sports for people with disabilities, as well as the development of recreational and professional sports programs. Since 2012, more than 35 million euros have been invested in the construction of sports fields and facilities. This has certainly contributed to our city taking the prestigious title of European City of Sport 2026 – said Tatjana Medved and once again congratulated the winning team.

In the semi-finals of the cup competed water polo clubs “Palilula”, “Partizan”, “Vojvodina” and “Red Star” in the women’s competition and “Šabac”, “Sava”, “Radnički” and “Novi Beograd” in the men’s competition.
