Member of the City Council for Sports and Youth, Tatjana Medved, attended the press conference on the occasion of the upcoming Sports and Youth Fair, which will be held on October 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Novi Sad Fair.
She pointed out that the Sports and Youth Fair is one of the most massive sports events held in Novi Sad, bringing together all those who believe in the power of togetherness, a healthy lifestyle and youthful energy.
“This event is much more than a sports and youth event – it is a meeting place between sport and youth, promotion of healthy lifestyles, inclusion and cooperation. This year, it is held under the slogan ‘Novi Sad is playing for the future’, which is our city’s candidacy for the title of European City of Sport. A special significance of this year’s Fair is given by the fact that Novi Sad officially holds as many as three European titles – European Capital of Culture, European Youth Capital and European City of Sport. This is a confirmation that our city is recognized in Europe as a community that inspires and leads the development of all areas of social life by its example. The title of European City of Sport is the result of many years of work, enthusiasm and joint commitment of all of us who believe in the importance of sport and sports activism. In one place, we will bring together sports clubs, organisations, sports and youth federations and associations, with the aim of enabling everyone to get acquainted with various sports disciplines and youth programmes, discover new interests and develop volunteer and sports spirit through a diverse programme of youth organisations and rich sports content that will present everything Novi Sad has to offer in the field of sports and youth. Visitors can expect dynamic sports competitions, interesting presentations of youth organizations, as well as a rich accompanying program filled with quizzes, prizes and numerous surprises. It will be a day full of socializing, positive energy and new experiences – said Tatjana Medved.
The conference was also attended by the Provincial Secretary for Sports and Youth, Dane Basta, and the Director General of the Novi Sad Fair, Slobodan Cvetković.
