Member of the City Council for Sports and Youth, Tatjana Medved, attended the event “Days of Sport” held at the Sports Center in Futog. The event was organised by the City Sports Association and the School Sports Association of the City of Novi Sad in order to promote sports activities among children and young people, namely handball, children’s athletics, basketball, volleyball and water sports.
“Today, this beautiful sports complex with a swimming pool has been given a great opportunity to become a training ground for the promotion of school sports. With this significant investment, the City has shown that it cares about ensuring the same quality of life in the city and in the suburbs. Here today, we are not only promoting sport, but also the values it carries – fair play, team spirit and perseverance. I am delighted with the energy and interest of children and young people, and events like this show how important it is to invest in sports infrastructure and work with children and young people. With its policy and actions, the City of Novi Sad unconditionally nurtures all sports and sports disciplines in all ages, categories, and especially work with children and persons with disabilities, from recreation to professional sports, providing maximum support at all levels – said Tatjana Medved.
Basketball Club “Futog 1276”, Volleyball Club “Futog Volley”, Athletic Club “Borac Futog”, Handball Club “Metalac”, Water Polo Club “Vojvodina” and Sports Association “Water Sports” promoted their sports disciplines during the day. Visitors also had the opportunity to get directly involved in sports activities, and special games and competitions were organized for children. The event ended with the awarding of medals and T-shirts to the participants and clubs.
