Member of the City Council for Sports and Youth, Tatjana Medved, opened the event “Sports Day” at Spence, organized on the occasion of marking December 3 – the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The event is implemented within the project ‘Together without barriers’ implemented by the Association of Sign Language Interpreters and Interpreters Novi Sad with the support of the City of Novi Sad.

“The City of Novi Sad, with a consistent and responsible social policy, continuously improves the position of people with disabilities, especially when it comes to inclusive sports. It’s not just a strategic goal, it’s a value that sets our common direction. Novi Sad is constantly improving existing services, developing new support models, investing in accessibility and strengthening cooperation with associations and professional institutions, showing that inclusion is part of our daily practice. In 2025, 288 million dinars have been allocated for program activities to support people with disabilities,” said Tatjana Medved.

In cooperation with the Sports Association of the Disabled of the City of Novi Sad, a rich and diverse programme was prepared, which presented various sports such as: throwing tiles, darts, table tennis, shooting, chess, hanging ball, bocce, and a film dedicated to para swimming was broadcast. This event has a special significance because it provides an opportunity for children, young people and the general public to get acquainted with the values of inclusion and equality through educational and interactive activities. Adapted sports facilities enable direct contact with people with disabilities and the development of empathy through creative experiences.
